A reliable electromechanical component used to connect and disconnect
high-power electrical currents in industrial and automation systems,
particularly for electric motor control. Fuji Electric offers several
contactor series, the most popular being the SC Series (including SC-N,
SC-E, and SC-NEXT) and the SK Series.
Fuji Electric Product Series
Fuji Electric produces a variety of contactor series to meet a variety of application needs, from light duty to heavy duty.
SC-N
Series / SK Series: The standard and most common series in the
Indonesian market, known for its durability and stable performance. This
series covers a wide range of rated current capacities from 9A to 800A
(AC-3 duty).
SC-E Series: Known for its compact size, allowing
for significant panel space savings. Models SC-E02 to SC-E4 have widths
of only 43mm, 54mm, and 67mm, respectively.
SC-N Type Naming
The
primary naming system for the SC-N series is based on frame size or
operating current capacity (A) at AC-3 loads (induction motor use at
standard voltage).
Fuji Electric divides the type naming into two major groups:
Type Group Typical Rated Current (AC-3, 380-440V) Key Features
SC-03
to SC-5-1 9A to 32A These are small-frame units. They are compact and
allow for easy installation of additional accessories with a snap-on
system.
SC-N1 to SC-N16 40A to 800A These are large-frame units featuring advanced "SUPER MAGNET" IC-controlled coil technology.
Distinctive Features by Type
The main difference in features between the small and large types lies in the magnetic coil technology:
Small Frame Type (SC-03 to SC-5-1)
This type does not use "SUPER MAGNET" technology and operates using conventional AC or DC electromagnetic principles.
Features: Very compact size, efficient arc extinguishing mechanism, and relatively low power consumption.
Sample Models: SC-03 (9A), SC-0 (12A), SC-4-0 (16A), SC-4-1 (22A), SC-5-1 (32A).
Large Frame Type (SC-N1 to SC-N16)
This type adopts electronically controlled "SUPER MAGNET" coil technology, offering greater reliability and energy efficiency.
"SUPER MAGNET" Features:
AC/DC Compatibility: The coil can be operated with either AC or DC inputs, facilitating part standardization.
Low
Power Consumption: Once the contacts are sealed, the control circuit
significantly reduces holding power, saving energy and reducing heat.
Stable Operation: No chatter and eliminating the risk of contact sticking or coil burning.
Example Models: SC-N1 (40A), SC-N2 (65A), SC-N3 (95A), SC-N5 (125A), SC-N6 (150A), up to SC-N16.
All
models in the SC-N series are designed to easily install various
additional accessories, such as auxiliary contact blocks, mechanical
interlock units, and thermal overload relays (TR-N series), to build a
complete motor control system.
